Developments in Liberia Through Binoculars

The above cartoon "How I See Liberia" was published on May 1, 2007 in the Daily observer online magazine. The artwork is fascinating and as pictures often do, it speaks a thousand words. In the picture, one of the characters asked another "Nagbe, what do you see on the horizon?" In response, Nagbe looking through a binoculars lists a number of things like lifting the ban on the sale of diamond, working in factories, etc. which he sees by way of the device.

We all mean good for Liberia and want the best for our country. Recent cartoon on the Liberian Observer website using a pair of binoculars to see the good things that are happening in the country speaks volumes of the problems the masses face even at a time when the guns are silent. With all the good will towards Liberia, it is disheartening that those good results are not even visible to the naked eye of those living in the country. If it will require a modern device to see efforts by President Sirleaf and co to put the country back on the road to recovery, I am afraid that with all the promises, this government may be another business as usual.
